Exams, Blogging, Zoo!

I haven't blogged in a really long time and that's because I've been busy with exams and things! I finished my exams and to be honest I think I did really good! I'm quite proud of myself plus I managed to not have any hypos during the exams so that was good! Today, I've been sent home because my blood wouldn't stay up, I had like, 3 hypos in two hours, which literally drains my energy...
I haven't done anything much exciting but I did go to the zoo, which was really fun! I will blog more now the exams are over! Bye, xo

8 Shopping Struggles Only Short Girls Understand!

This is a list of all the struggles short girls (like me:( sadly aha) go through when shopping! It's annoying being 4ft 9 when all you wear most of the time is skinny jeans! They never fit right! Aha!

1) Trousers!
All trousers are always tooooo long! You spend ages trying to pick trousers and not one of them fit so you have to fold them about a thousand times so you don't look like a right plonker! Aha;)
The petite section in shops are still even too long, I just give up!

2) Long dresses!
Any sort of long dresses you buy, such as maxi dresses and things, just cause you to trip and slide  anywhere and everywhere! Fun a lot of the time, but not quite when you're trying to act as normal as possible walking down the streets!

3) Mini skirts!
Mini skirts are normal knee length, which is good if you see a nice skirt which is too short for normal days, ahaha!;)

4) Online Shopping!
Online shopping is basically limited for me to tops and shoes! Because there's no chance that if I bought trousers online, they wouldn't be going back! Ah!

5) T-shirts!
Most t-shirts are long, but for me, I don't mind because I like my tops baggy and oversized, but only tucked into my 'overly sized trousers!' Aha!

6) Tights and Leggings!
URGH, when short girls buy leggings and tights, we can literally pull them way further than they were made for! Such as tights reaching over your shoulders (actually happened!)

7) Boots!
Although I've never wanted knee night boots or anything remotely like that, I bet it would be damn hard to find some that don't bury me!

8) Shopping In The Kids Section!
I'm only 13, so I still sometimes get things that are sized in ages and not like 6, 8,10 and so on, but because I can literally get jeans from kids section if they're 11-12 and upwards! I only just realised a few weeks ago, but my favourite pair of jeans are 11-12 and they're maybe the only jeans I have that are the right length!

ANYWAY, WHAT I SAY IS #EMBRACETHESHORTNESS! Ahah, ;)

My Celiac Story!

I have a "disease" called celiac, which means I can't eat gluten. I think I was diagnosed just about or over two years ago, which scares me because for that long I haven't been doing what I should of. If I eat gluten, I don't get like, an allergic reaction I get just stomach aches, which is the only symptom of celiac disease I have, even though there are loads more...
My mum told me they had tested my blood at the hospital, and found that something wasn't quite right, so I have to have an operation where they put a camera down my throat, and take a sample of my intestine to test!?!?! Sounds painful but it only felt like a chest infection for about three days afterwards, and like scraping when you swallow!? I think my mum only told me about the operation like, a week or so before because she knew I'd be scared, and she was too because she thought they'd have to put the camera up my butt, luckily they didn't  aha! One thing I remember in the hospital is just waking up in the night and crying to my mum cos I was scared, but I was fine. But the next day when it was my operation I refused to wear the gross hospital gowns so they let me wear my own comtfy Pjs, aha!
After the operation and the test of my intestine or whatevs, I got the news that I did infact have Celiac Disease. I literally had no idea what this was and neither did my mum so it was quite scary. But I soon learnt I couldn't eat oats, wheats, anything like that, which meant gluten free bread, cereal, chocolate (sometimes) and even things such as pasta and like, 10p sweets from the shop!? I didn't realise or even think about the problems that Celiac would cause me later in life and I think that's why I never stopped eating gluten till the day I got put in hospital. I used to cry to my mum on random nights saying how I liked life and I didn't want to die, because one of the problems with Celiac disease is, that it can progress into Cancer. As I've got older I realised how important it is to look after your body because after all you only have one. So I was scared it would progress into worse things, but I just found it too hard to eat a gluten free diet.
I kept going for x-Rays because the bones in my hips and wrist were becoming really weak and it felt like my bones ground against each other, so me and my mum thought it was arthritis because we Googled it and everything matched up, so we went for the X-rays and they told me it was because of my Celiac and that because I wasn't eating gluten free at all, my body's literally taking no nutriants in. So my bones were feeling weak, I didn't have energy and so I ended up on this disgusting iron medicine which leaves a taste in your mouth like you've sucked a metal pole or something ahhh:/ still have to take it actually...
When I got put in hospital a few weeks ago, I was obviously on a gluten free diet in there because I had no choice, but being in hospital was like, a wake up call, because I'd realised if I don't start doing the right things soon, I wouldn't live a healthy long life like I could. I really have to stick to my gluten free diet now because I read that it can take 2-5 years on a gluten free diet for my intestines to repair themselves fully. So since I got out, I haven't eaten gluten at all and I feel much better and proud of myself.
Just realised how long that is^

My Diabetes Story!

Having diabetes is really quite stressful as you have to keep good control on your blood as it can cause bigger problems when you're older. Your eye sight can be affected, as well as slow healing on cuts and things! I got diagnosed with diabtetes when I was 9 and my mum took me to the doctors because she noticed I lost loads of weight (I was 4st when I got admitted to hospital) I was drinking excessively and going to the loo very often. I was really drained, exhausted just by walking up the stairs, and you could tell I was really ill just by looking at me. When she took me to the doctors they took my blood and told my mum she needed to take me straight to the hospital, without going home to get clothes or anything, because the level my blood was at was life threatening. I was in hospital for a bit over a week and then everything was back to normal, apart from the fact I had to have injections every single time I ate. Before I had diabtetes I only thought old people could get diabtetes as the only diabetic I knew was my nannan! One thing that really annoys me is when people say to me "oh, you have diabetes? So does my nan/grandad!" Urghhhhh! Aha You can't see my illness, well unless your like, sat next to me when my bloods going low or something, but i still have it, there's nothing I can do about it and it's for life, sadly Ahah!
Also, which makes me more annoyed than anything is when we do food studies at school, and the teachers sit there and say diabetes is caused by eating too much sugar or being overweight, that's type 2, but I have type 1 and people sit there and look at me, aha!
*Rant Over*
Last October, I was given an insulin pump because my blood levels had gotten really good and I had good control of my diabtetes, which I had found difficult in the past. An insulin pump Is a little device that is controlled with Bluetooth. There is a little tube that connects from the pump, into a cannula that I  put in my stomach, so that meant I didn't have to inject anymore! I haven't got it taken off me by the hospital yet so I must be doing things right, I find it much easier and it's really improved my bloods even more!
Bye, ;) ️xo

Test and Revision!

I have lots and lots do revising to do this Easter holidays because the first week back of school, my year sadly has their exams! I'm not prepared for these test as I've had a lot of time off school because of my bloods and being in hospital:( I'm going to try and revise as much as possible so I have a good chance of getting the marks I need, but I think it will be very stressful.
I might post ways to stop (or minimise) the stress during exam periods because I could do with the tips myself and I'm sure other people need some too!

In The Hospital!

I've been in hospital since Monday night because my blood was so high that it made me sick, dizzy and unable to breath properly:( but it's okay now so I should be going home this afternoon! One plus side is I only had to have one hospital meal out of the three days I've been in because I was wired to loads of fluid machines!
